Noticing that his attempt to trip his opponent had all but failed, Cypher quickly halted his attack plan, instead moving to dock both his beamsabers, replacing them with a grenade in each hand.
Commanding his bits to once again flank the enemy as it turned around to face him, Cypher tossed both of his grenades underhanded at the Xeno dueling him while at the same time ordering his bits to begin their assault against the target's backside.
After loosing both his grenades at his opponent, Cypher undocked only one of his beam pistols with his left hand while making a rightward dash, raising the beam pistol up and taking aim at the second grenade he tossed. Pulling the trigger, a single green bolt of energy lanced through the air, connected with the grenade, and detonated it prematurely causing the other to detonate in the blast of the first, right in the face of the enemy duelists.
Quickly coming to a halt, Cypher paused a moment and waited for the blasts to clear so that he could ascertain the fate of his opponent this round, his bits darting back and forth idly around the firecloud after they completed their attack.

The Gernades blind Julius when they go off in his face briefly, and do some dammage to his unit's head. Julius did not wait for the smoke to clear on his unit, using his sensors instead of the cameras, moved directly towards Cypher's unit, beam sabers out before him, his shields blocking as many shots to the front from the bits as he could manage, which were not very many. As he got close, Julius brought his beam sabers together to form an X, then made a sizzor cut at Cypher's unit.

Pushing his Genoace into a backwards dash, Cypher raised his left arm up and ejected the shield mounted on it as a sacrifice to the beamsabers the enemy was attempting to slice him with.
Figuring the grenade trick worked alright the first time, Cypher used the cover of the ejected shield to toss another grenade behind it with his right hand. The grenade would be hidden behind the shield as it flew at the opponent's mobile suit, only to be detonated when the enemy slices through the shield and into the hidden grenade. Sure, the blast would be blocked by the shield, but the shock of the detonation would force the two halves of the shield into the front side of the enemy mobile suit.
This time, not waiting to see if his gambit would pay off, Cypher recalled all his bits while leveling his beam pistol at the enemy, waiting for any obstacles to be cleared before he fired it at the opponent Xeno. He habitually grabbed three combat throwing knives from his holder and also readied them to be thrown when he fired his beam pistol.

Julius ducked under the shield thrown and lunged at Cypher's unit, the hidden gernade exploding behind him. He had not expected the gernade, and it caused him to go off ballance a bit, knocking his unit off ballance a bit, causing Julius to stumble forwards, his beam saber still outstretched towards Cypher's Genoace.

Easily side-stepping the stumbling opponent, Cypher docked his weapons, grabbed hold of his enemy's outstretched arm, and then using his other hand, pushed down on the backside of the opposing Xeno, slamming it into the ground before quickly letting go of the downed opponent and slamming his foot down onto the back of the enemy mobile suit, pinning it.
Reaching up, Cypher drew one of his beamsabers, pointed it at the back of the enemy's head, and pushing down with a little more pressure on the back of the Xeno with his Genoace's foot, Cypher could feel the armor guarding the cockpit begin to give. "Yield." Cypher demanded, simply and flatly as the heated energy from his beamsaber began to cause the metal on the back of the opponent's head to warp and boil slightly.

The fighter, after confering with the judges on the side lines, quickly resets the dammage simulators on the battle between Cypher and Julius, ending the match.
"By judges concent, we have a winner. Cypher will go on to round two, and Julius will be added to the wild card pick."
