Upon seeing the organized movement of the aerial units, Marco couldn't help but wonder if there was a command unit present amongst the flock. For them to move in such a pattern, certainly there would have to be some kind of commander present on the field. But he had little time to relay his suspicions to the others, as the Birdies swooped over to attack him.
Utilizing the terrain to the best of his ability, he was able to avoid any significant damage to his unit, while continuing to open fire with all four beam rifles, at the lead units of the flock that was aiming at him. Given the number of bolts that were flying upwards, Marco was confident that at least a number of them would hit, in spite of any enemy movement.

With the flying enemies separating into smaller groups, Briar had less enemies to deal with, which worked for him. Briar switched the Variable Beam Rifle to its default mode, allowing him to use his ammo more sparingly and precisely. Briar continued to weave, dodge, and boost to dodge the lightened rain of beam projectiles, keeping his shield ready to block any beams he couldn't dodge. When he found an opening, Briar fired at one of the Death Birdies, aiming for the head to take it out.

Using the shield on his arm Harlow blocked as much of the incoming fire as he could, firing his sniper rifle at another birdie, aiming for the wings as it was the most likely way to bring them down, perhaps even crashing into more on the way down. After his shot he began to withdraw into the forest, his GM Ranger blending in well with the surrounding vegetation.

When Ransac's unit approaches at top speed, using his gattling gun to attack the swarm, the rounds manage to do some dammage to the group, but as a whole, little actual dammage is done. As he moves in closer, activating his beam sabers, the units scatter, with only one remaining, rushing directly at him while the other units surround Ransac's unit on all sides, their beam guns blazing in his direction, while the single unit attempts to ram his unit.
Axl's three shots manage to strike home on three death army birdie units, taking all three down easily. Instantly, the remaining 6 units change tactics, swooping down to the level of Axl's unit, surrounding him, and moving in close as possible.
The middle birdie unit in the group takes the blast from the beam cannon turret on Alex's unit, destroying it completly, causing the rest of the group to scatter, reforming into four groups of two each. With more targets to keep track of, it makes it harder for the machine gun turrets to attack many at once, and the birdie units manage to get in close without taking a whole lot of dammage, and open fire with their guns.
Two of the units attacking Marco's unit are struck by the attacks sent at them, taking them out of the fight, and bringing them to the ground. Instantly, the remaining 7 units divide up into two groups of 2 and one group of three. The two groups of two stay up high, opening fire on Marco, while the group of three drop down to tree level, and move in to close range attack range.
The Death Army birdie unit that Briar shot takes the blast to the head, knocking the head out completly, but not the unit itself. It only forces the unit to switch to it's secondary camera. The 9 units divide up further into three groups of 3 each, with two groups staying in the air, and one group droping to tree level. The groups in the air open fire, while the lower units spread out surrounding Kagi's heat signature.
Harlow manages to clip the wing of one of the death army birdie units, causing it to fall a bit, but one of the other Death army birdie units catches it, supporting it in the air. With it's one remaining wing and the wing of the other unit, the two are able to stay in the air, but now have more weapons together. The two together, pluss one more unit stay in the air, while the other six units drop to tree level.

Valen grinned as the enemy did as he had expected. As the birdies surrounded him he began spinning rapidly in the air, using both his shields (and anti beam cloak) to deflect all the beams coming at him while becoming a mobile suit sized buzzsaw with the vulcan/sabers. For greater effect he also began firing the gatling guns, using the spin to send a wide spray in all directions.

Axl takes surprise that the Birdies knew their tactics. This could get interesting, and it didn't help that they've moved into his weak point: Close range. Thinking fast, he quickly trades the Prototype Beam Sniper Rifle and Prototype Gundam Beam Rifle for the Beam Splitter and Iron gun Blade, held in the right and left hand respectively, as those two weapons are his best defenses for close encounters. Also arming his vulcans and leg-mounted Beam Machine Guns, Axl unloads his Beam Splitter into on Birdie, his Vulcans at two other birdies (one with his head vulcans, another with his torso vulcans), the solid gun on his gunblade into a forth, and the beam machine guns at the birdies targeted by the Vulcans for good measure, hoping to get torso shots with each weapon so Axl has more Birdies to work with.
Alex swears when he sees the damage readers for the Gallop's hull send in all the damage data the Gallop is taking. If this keeps up, Alex will have to evacuate the Gallop, and if that happens, it will seriously hurt his business as a Junk Dealer. Having the machine gun turrets on the Gallop attack the Birdies to the best of their ability, Alex continues using the main turret to try and clip the wings of another Birdie, praying that some backup will come his way before the Gallop is rendered useless.

Seeing that he had managed to down two of the nine units in his flock, Marco was rather concerned, when his sensors indicated to him that a trio of fliers had broken formation and were approaching him. The other four, had broken up into pairs, and were attacking him from above, but in thrusting erratically, as well as using the terrain to his advantage, the pilot managed to avoid most of the beams, save for one which grazed again his extra right arm, thereby suffering a minor loss in functionality.
Regardless, the merc instead focused his attention on the trio that were trying to approach his unit. Compensating for the damage inflicted on his extra right arm, Marco once more flooded the trio's approach vector with another storm of low particle bolts, as well as 2 full bursts of ballistics fire from the shield mounted weapons.

Briar looked around, and knew he couldn't stand still any longer. If he did he and his unit would be turned into swiss cheese, or in worse case a nuclear fireball. Quickly turning on his thrusters, Briar turned his unit towards the nearest ground-level Death Bird and headed towards it maximum speed, making sure to keep his trail zig-zagged and irregular to keep himself from being properly targeted. Now that some of the units had come closer to ground level, they were in Briar's territory now; close-range combat. Holstering his Variable Beam Rifle, Briar drew one of his Beam Sabers as he got close to the unit, readying to attack.

Seeing the enemies drop down to tree level Harlow stored his rifle, the two in the air would have reduced mobility so he could deal with them later. Covering the majority of his suit with his shield he fired the dual beam cannons at the closer birdies, his shield talking most of the retaliatory beam fire, one blast grazing his shoulder. Following this he headed backwards before unexpectedly breaking off to the left to try and avoid the incoming fire.

The Death Army birdie units keep their distance from Valen's unit save for the one who had rushed headlong towards Valen's unit, which gets caught in the attack, and is badly dammaged. The unit is forced off to the side. The unit falls to the ground, and explodes. The other units take a some dammage from the attacks, though one takes less then the others.
The birdie units that had been moving in on Axl's unit begin strike and run tactics on Spice, using the terrain to their advantage to avoid as much of the attacks as they can, still taking some dammage. They move and striking quickly, in order to make it harder for Axl to get a lock on them, while two of the arial enemy units begin to do a dive bomb on his unit.
The birdie units stay out of the range of the machine gun turrets as much as possible, but Alex manages to clip the wing of one of the units, bringing it to the ground.
Instantly the three Death army birdie units that had been moving towards Marco's unit split up, each only taking a bit of dammage from the attacks in turn. The enemy units move to surround Marco's unit, moving in a circle around the unit, opening fire on Marco's unit, but slowly closing in the circle. None of the three are in a cross fire position, but each are equally distant from each other.
The unit that Briar is about to attack raises it's clawed arm, and a beam saber pops out of the palm where the beam gun had been. The beam saber is similar to that of a Gafran unit. The unit brings up the beam saber, and blocks the attack comming from Briar, and activates the beam saber in the other claw, stabbing it directly at Briar's unit's torso.
The birdie unit struck by the dual cannons gets taken down. Afterwards, the units are effected by the quick change of direction, but quickly adjust. The five ground level units change tactics, and form a large circle around Harlow's unit, firing directly at him, but not in any way that would cause them to hit each other. They slowly close up the circle around Harlow's unit, while the units above cover the area above the circle.

Valen flew higher up into the sky as fast as he could, briefly leaving the swarm of birdies behind. As he flew he flipped upside-down to look directly at the unit that had taken the least amount of damage. "There you are." He said with a chuckle before maxing out his thrust for maximum falling speed.
As he approached his target he fired the remaining ammo of the shoulder gatlings into the area around it, preventing escape and ensuring that it would have to face him directly. With a grin he crossed his vulcan/sabers blades in front of him and prepared to attack or counterattack as needed. "Show me what you're worth." He said.

Axl was really starting to wonder if there was a Birdie unit possibly sending orders to the other Birdies, because this was just getting rediculous. His situation was also worsened by the fact that due to the close distance, a cannon or missile attack with the Assault Container could misfire, and then he'd just end up shooting himself, literally. Not willing to risk it, he kept the Assault Container's weapons on standby and dropped the Container's targeting screen so he had a better view of the Birdies around and above him. Deciding to keep his Gunblade on standby, he trades it for the SubRoc Gun, which he aims and fires at the first Birdie to try and get close. While he was on the defensive, he realized something, one of those Birdies was moving quicker than all the others. That one must be the leader.
Trading the Beam Splitter for the Prototype Gundam Beam Rifle, Axl then kept a careful watch for the fastest of the Birdies. Once the one Birdie was spotted, he quickly went to focus it as best as possible, sending a shot from both the beam rifle and his right arm-mounted smooth bore cannon at it with a solution that lead the attack for a hit to the faster Birdie's visible arm while challenging it to a shoot-off."Hey, Birdie! You may be faster than the rest of your flock, but I wonder if you have what it takes to match me in a one-on-one shoot-off."
Alex was seriously wondering how the heck he could manage to pull the Gallop out of this one. Not only were the Birdies keeping out of his double-machine gun turrets' range, he was also only really clipping their wings one at a time with the double beam cannon. If he was going to pull out of this, he needed to do something fast. Deciding right now that the best offense was the best defense he could put up, he kept the Double Machine Gun turrets to target any Birdie that tried to get close, now doing the same himself with the double beam cannon turret, simultaneously booting up the auxiliary power-up sequence for his Raysta should evacuation of the transport be absolutely necessary.

Having unfortunately becoming encircled by the trio of slightly damaged aerial units, his options were rather limited, so to speak. Forced into a evasive stance, using his unit's speed and the terrain, the merc managed to avoid most of the harm, except for the grazing of the other extra left arm, causing the limb to suffer from a number of slight malfunctions.
Adjusting for the damage suffered by the other limb, Marco moved his unit in a counter pattern to that of the trio, unloading a barrage of beams and shells at the unlucky unit he had manged to target, during his counter movement. Even as of now, he was still unable to identify the leader of this particular flock, as there were nothing to give away his location.

Seeing the incoming beam saber, Briar's unit dodged to the left, barely managing to avoid his own death. The computers and uncomfortable raise in the cockpit's temperature told him that he had barely managed to avoid the attack, the graze causing damage across the unit's abdomen. Not wasting the moment however, Briar threw a downward punch with his shield arm, firing the mounted Beam Gun down into the unit's body and hopefully finishing it.

Using his shield to block the beams from the front and the left Harlow was unable to avoid getting hit in the back. The impact threw him forwards inside his cockpit. "Dammit, at this rate I'm screwed." He needed to get out of this death trap, quickly rushing forwards as fast as he could he charged straight at one of the birdies while drawing his beam sabre, shield raised to block incoming fire. If he could tackle on of them to the ground a well placed stomp should severely damage it.
